Motorola is a popular phone company that has been rolling out phones since 1928. Its latest roll out has been the MotoG. The looks of it remind you of the MotoX which has been released a mere 4 months ago. Here is a look into the good and bad of it.
Getting to basics, though the handset is identical to MotoX, there is more to it.
It isn’t as large sized in comparison to other high end phones and hence, it becomes easily manageable. It has a battery life of 2 full days if the use is moderate. Its edges are curved which add to the attraction. It is a relatively strong phone. It weighs only around 143 grams in weight and exceedingly thin on the sides. One of the better things about this phone is that it has a rubber plate attached to it. This of course gives better grip and less sweat when one is holding the phone. The phone is customisable i.e. one can swap its back cover for a differently coloured one. Micro USB port at the bottom and a Micro SIM port underneath the back cover.
It has a plastic covered back. This doesn’t look very appealing. Also, the back cover isn’t very easy to take off. Though, it can handle decent levels of water, it isn’t completely waterproof. The worst is that the battery of this phone is irremovable.
The speaker is alright at that price. Easy access to volume buttons. Headphone jack on the head of the phone.
The sound could definitely get better.
Display and Graphics
It has a 1280X720 screen resolution which makes for an amazing display. It also comes with a 4.5 inch screen which is decently large. Absolutely no snags when it comes to gaming. The pixel density is 390! This is more than an iphone 5s!
The animation of the games drops by a few frames.
Cameras and Videos
The camera is of 5 MP with a 720p Video shooting capability.
In spite of the huge resolutions and sensors, the camera quality comes off to be a disappointment.
Calls and Messages
Lack of LTE
Operating System and Storage
It comes with an Android 4.4 Kit-Kat at that price which is amazing. It has a 1.2 Ghz snapdragon 400 processor of graphics and 1 GB of RAM. Moreover, it has 2 models of 8 GB and 16 GB. Cloud storage is possible.
One storage model is much more expensive than the other one. It has non expendable storage.
At its price, it is by no means a bad deal. However, whether all of this, sounds fancy just on paper or it actually manages to provide utility for its price remains to be seen. If this piece manages to provide value for money then, it has hit the nail with the hammer and shall go a long way. Buy this phone here
