Before getting into the detailed specifications discussion of Lenovo Vibe X2, let’s take a tour now!
Lenovo Vibe X2 – Design & Display
The extra layer of the protection to the display is provided by the Gorilla Glass 3 which makes the display scratch resistant and provides more strength to withstand an impact.
The phone is available in 4 color options.
The volume and power keys are on the right side of the device and the front is clean with just the screen and touch sensitive buttons. The front facing camera of 5 MP is almost invisible and the front also houses the ambient light sensor along with the proximity sensor.
The rear however houses the camera, flash, Lenovo branding and the speaker grill.
The 3.5 mm audio jack is settled on the top of the device which is a convenient place for it to be.
Lenovo Vibe X2 – Camera
The phone comes with a primary camera of 13 MP with a LED flash and a secondary camera of 5 MP.
The Vibe UI brings customization to the camera app on the phone as well which brings a lot more features when compared to the stock Google Camera app.
The camera app UI is simple to use even to a novice and provides some very good shooting modes. The camera also clicks photos with the help of voice and gesture controls.
The one downside of the camera app is that it can only shoot videos in 720p while 1080p has become a normal standard these days. In the photography department, the phone does some extraordinary job and takes good low light images with the help of the Digital zoom and LED flash.
Lenovo Vibe X2 – Processor & GPU
The phone is powered by a 2.0 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6595M processor coupled with a PowerVR G6200 GPU clocked at 450 mHz.
The processor and GPU are coupled with 2 GB RAM which allows apps to use the chipset to its full potential. So, it would be perfect for game lovers.
Lenovo Vibe X2 – OS, Storage & Battery
As mentioned above, the phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Vibe UI on top of it which is Lenovo’s own customization. The phone may get an upgrade to Lollipop but there is no official word till now.
The phone comes with an internal flash memory of 32 GB and you cannot expand the memory. But 32GB at the price which is Rs. 19,999 is quite good and enough for an end user.
The battery of 2300 mAh might seem to be lower powered but KitKat has an optimized way of using the battery.
Lenovo claims that this phone provides a talk time of 17 hours on 3G and a standby time of 228 hours.
This sounds good in theory but how long does the phone holds on will only be seen in real life usage.
Lenovo Vibe X2 – Verdict
This phone is a great buy at the price of Rs. 19,999 and considered as a big competitor for Xiaomi Mi 3. It is comparable to phone in much higher budgets. But it also has its downsides like the video is shot only in 720p and the battery could have been better. But at this low price, it is worth to get this phone with innovative multi-layered design and fast CPU performance.
