Layout and Design

Samsung has used a metal frame to give the device a sturdy look, but there is no flex when a user runs it. However, the old polycarbonate back is still there. The device has got almost same design as Samsung Galaxy S2 and a layout same as Samsung Galaxy S5. It has chamfered edges, metal chassis, slimy box design and a physical home button which gives a striking similarity with Apple iPhone.

The device is only 6.7 mm and weighs just 115 g. It has two sensor cutouts along with notification LED at the top of the screen. The volume and power buttons are made up of metal and there is a single speaker at the bottom of the screen. At the rear side of the device, there is a primary camera with a flashlight and a heart-rate monitor. As mentioned earlier, device has got 4.7 inch Super Amoled 720p screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Apart from this, it has a pixel density of 312ppi. There is a lit bit of over saturation of colors, but it can be neglected as the device has fingerprint sensor and some amazing viewing angel. Even you can easily readable the screen texts under direct sunlight.

Processor and Performance

Although the device is powered by 1.8/1.3 GHz quad-core processor, it will be replaced by an octa-core chip in Asia. There is a 2 GB RAM which means the device will offer some amazing performance. It comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and will be upgradeable to Android Lollipop. Similar to S5, Samsung has layered the TouchWiz UI over the KitKat OS.

A 12MP rear camera with auto-focus and flashlight feature has incorporated in this awesome gadget to shoot crispy clear photos. It can capture 4K videos & video of 2160p@30fps with good color reproduction. The front camera is of 2.1 MP and capture good quality selfies. It also offers Dual camera, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama and HDR.

Storage and Battery

The all new Samsung Galaxy Alpha offers a 32 GB internal storage and there is no slot for external storage. It runs on an 1860 mAh Li-ion battery which gives a decent backup. But when the screen is active and graphics are played, its battery drains quickly which is the major dupe of this device.
